Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Stravinskij! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Arlovskii! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Stravinskij looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stravinskij wants to clinch up but Arlovskii keeps it at a distance. Arlovskii is looking to clinch but Stravinskij is avoiding it.
Stravinskij throws a right and a left that both miss. Stravinskij moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Andrei Arlovskii has been cut. Stravinskij tries to clinch there but Arlovskii circles away.
Stravinskij shoots in but Arlovskii avoids the takedown attempt easily. Arlovskii looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stravinskij is refusing to be controlled, as Arlovskii sits in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Arlovskii passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Stravinskij! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Arlovskii trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stravinskij is looking to get to half guard. Stravinskij tries to hold on but Arlovskii pushes him away. Arlovskii trying to control but he's not successful this time. Stravinskij really wants to buck Arlovskii off and get back to his feet. Stravinskij is desperately trying to improve his position but Arlovskii has a good base and remains in mount. Stravinskij tries to hold on but Arlovskii pushes him away. Arlovskii controlling from the full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Arlovskii moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Stravinskij has worked his arm free - good work by Stravinskij!
Stravinskij tries to buck Arlovskii off but Arlovskii is having none of it. Stravinskij wants to control but Arlovskii postures up. Stravinskij on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Arlovskii misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arlovskii is looking to take a break and control but Stravinskij is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stravinskij is looking to regain half guard here but Arlovskii keeps moving and retains side control. Stravinskij dodges the ground and pound from Arlovskii.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Arlovskii tries to clinch up. Stravinskij stuffs the takedown attempt from Arlovskii. Arlovskii gets slowly back to his feet. Stravinskij lands a left and a right that send Arlovskii crashing to the mat, dazed. Stravinskij thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Arlovskii looks gassed! Stravinskij sends Arlovskii crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Stravinskij is motioning to the referee to let Arlovskii up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Arlovskii is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stravinskij tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stravinskij throws a head kick that misses. Stravinskij moves into range and clinches up with Arlovskii. Stravinskij drags the fight down to the ground.
Arlovskii pushes down on Stravinskij's leg and manages to get into half guard. Arlovskii missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stravinskij is trying to maintain the position but Arlovskii is very close to passing his half guard. Stravinskij wants to improve his position but Arlovskii is controlling well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Still in half guard, Arlovskii seems content to control. Arlovskii stops Stravinskij from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Igor Stravinskij dominated that round. The cut man is working on Andrei Arlovskii's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Arlovskii dodges the punch combination from Stravinskij.
Arlovskii throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stravinskij. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Stravinskij here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Stravinskij throws a big shot that misses. Arlovskii lands a head kick!
Stravinskij lands with a nice combination. Arlovskii backs away looking to recover. This has been an exciting period of action! Stravinskij closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Arlovskii is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Stravinskij is controlling him well. Arlovskii is working to avoid the ground and pound but Stravinskij connects with a decent elbow. Stravinskij grinds an elbow into Arlovskii's temple. Stravinskij lands some shots froms side control. Stravinskij decides to stand up, so the ref orders Arlovskii to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stravinskij tries to close the distance and clinch up but Arlovskii swats him away and circles back towards the center. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stravinskij lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Arlovskii at a distance.
Igor Stravinskij is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stravinskij is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stravinskij throws a lazy head kick and Arlovskii counters with a good, hard body kick but Stravinskij shrugs it off. Stravinskij is looking to clinch but Arlovskii is avoiding it.
Stravinskij moves into range and clinches up with Arlovskii. Stravinskij has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Arlovskii uses from the top position. Stravinskij wants to stand but Arlovskii is controlling the position. Arlovskii trying to control the position from guard on top but Stravinskij is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stravinskij wants to get back to his feet but Arlovskii is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Arlovskii's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Arlovskii sitting in guard, not really doing much. Stravinskij keeping moving, preventing Arlovskii from controlling successfully. Stravinskij manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stravinskij tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stravinskij landing strikes from the mount and Arlovskii is in trouble! Stravinskij trying to control but he's not successful this time. Stravinskij controlling the position easily from mount. Arlovskii is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Arlovskii working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The referee warns Arlovskii that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Arlovskii is looking to get to half guard. Stravinskij unloading with bombs! Stravinskij unloading with bombs! Arlovskii can't escape the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arlovskii can do anything to dispel that myth. Stravinskij connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stravinskij landing shots from mount. Stravinskij cracks Arlovskii with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Stravinskij tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Igor Stravinskij dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Andrei Arlovskii's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Stravinskij moves into the clinch. Arlovskii changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stravinskij fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stravinskij cracks Arlovskii with a good jab. Stravinskij clinches up with Arlovskii and pushes him back against the cage. Arlovskii tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Igor Stravinskij has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Arlovskii. Stravinskij's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Stravinskij fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Igor Stravinskij seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arlovskii tries to close the distance and clinch but Stravinskij swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Stravinskij sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Igor Stravinskij is winning the standup battle so far. Arlovskii takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stravinskij has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stravinskij bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Arlovskii's guard. Stravinskij has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Arlovskii is proving hard to escape from. Stravinskij won't allow Arlovskii to sweep him here. Stravinskij trying to control but Arlovskii is working from the bottom. Stravinskij working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stravinskij passes Arlovskii's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Stravinskij not doing much here.
Arlovskii wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Arlovskii taking some punishment here, with Stravinskij in his half guard. Stravinskij tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Arlovskii moves into full guard.
Stravinskij tries to free his leg and advance position but Arlovskii is retaining full guard. Stravinskij is stalling in the full guard. Stravinskij looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stravinskij trying to control the position from guard on top but Arlovskii is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stravinskij stopping the sweep attempt from Arlovskii. Arlovskii pulls Stravinskij in close to prevent any damage. Igor Stravinskij overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stravinskij trying to control but Arlovskii is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stravinskij wants to get up but he can't break Arlovskii's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stravinskij throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arlovskii. Stravinskij fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Arlovskii shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stravinskij but Stravinskij pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stravinskij displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Arlovskii. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Arlovskii is defended easily by Stravinskij. Stravinskij lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Igor Stravinskij showed his dominance in that final round. Well Stravinskij has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
