Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulie Marconna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marconna comes to the cage accompanied by Bobby Brown - My Prerogative. Kozlov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Enae Volare Mezzo. Both fighters look pumped up here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marconna tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

You can see the frustration on Kozlov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marconna's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marconna looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Marconna avoids the head kick by Kozlov.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marconna is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kozlov wants to stand and escape but Marconna is having none of it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Marconna lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kozlov backs up against the cage.
Marconna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Marconna drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kozlov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Marconna seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Marconna tries to free his leg and advance position but Kozlov is retaining full guard.
Marconna not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Marconna won't allow Kozlov to get back to his feet.
Kozlov pulls Marconna in to control the position.
Kozlov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kozlov wants to stand up but Marconna is controlling him.
Kozlov is wriggling around but Marconna manages to pass to half guard.
Kozlov tries to get to full guard but Marconna has control of the leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marconna seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
