PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Kael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kael comes to the cage accompanied by Paplebon. Hank Hill is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Kael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Hill!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hill!
Hill avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kael throws a low kick, looking for Hill's leg but Hill calmly moves out of range.

Hill closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kael did well to prevent Hill getting side control.
Kael is looking for a sweep. Hill is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hill missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Hill content to control rather than advance.
Kael is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kael does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hill blocks a low kick nicely.

Hill throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kael was covering up waiting for the punch and Hill finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kael looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hill is one step ahead there.
Hill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Kael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hill wants to control from the top but Kael keeps moving.
Hill advances to half guard.

Hill seems to be working for a kimura but Kael defends the submission attempt.

Hill is working for an americana but Kael has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Hill was thinking about the submission.

Kael pulls Hill in close to prevent any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Kael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kael is trying to control the position but Hill postures up.
Kael is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kael is trying to control the action in half guard but Hill is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kael trying to advance position but Hill counters by regaining guard.
Hill is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kael throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hill swings for the body but Kael moves out of range.
Kael misses with a low kick.
Hill takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hill lands with a cross.

Hill scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hill prevents Kael from improving his position.
Hill works his way into full mount!
Kael is squirming around, avoiding Hill's attempts to control the action.

Hill scoring with strikes but Kael is staying in there.
Hill with a couple of short strikes.
Hill putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Hill is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Kael is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hill looking for a guillotine from mount but Kael is having none of it.
Kael wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hill.

Hill goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kael turns into him and now he's in Hill's guard.
Kael pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hill is keeping the position for now.
Hill pulls Kael in close to his closed guard and prevents Kael from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hill seems keen to control Kael's posture.
Kael passes easily into side control. Nice work.
I wouldn't like to be where Hill is right now.
Kael wants to stand but Hill is controlling his arm.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hill struggling a bit here.
Kael wants to control but Hill is keeping him busy.
Kael happy to just control the position for now.
Hill is trying to improve his position.
Hill gets back to half guard.
Hill moves into full guard.

Hank Hill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hill connects with a looping right hand.
Kael misses with a body kick.

Kael gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kael working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hill.
Hill throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kael works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hill slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hill wants to control from the top but Kael keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hank Hill.
Horrible takedown by Hill or perhaps it was just good defense by Kael which made him look bad.
Hill ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kael moves away.
Hill looks to land a right hand but Kael moved out of range.

Hill shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hill throwing shots but Kael is blocking nicely.

Hill frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Hill is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kael has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kael!
Tyson Kael has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kael looking to pass the guard.
Kael has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kael's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hank Hill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
