The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bova throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bova will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Bova counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bova controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Johnson has his foot on Bova's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bova works his way back into a safe position though.
