Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alberta Wrecking Machine!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Machine moves forwards but King connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Alberta Wrecking Machine has been cut.
King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Machine moves away.
King gets a clinch.
Nice elbow from King.
Machine avoiding damage as King throws knees to the body.
King with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
King stalling the fight.
Machine tries for a takedown. No joy.
Machine jumps guard but King stands there with Machine around his waist. Machine gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
King just leaning against Machine, taking a breather.
King lands a right hand.
Machine drops to a knee looking for a takedown but King gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Larry King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alberta Wrecking Machine.
King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Machine backwards.
Machine tries to pull guard but King holds him up against the cage and eventually Machine drops back down to his feet.
Machine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. King smiles and moves away.
Machine tries to clinch
and King counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
King breaks the clinch.
King blocks a jab.
Machine takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A head kick misses from King.
Machine swings away with a body shot that misses
and King counters by moving into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Machine fails to pull the fight into his guard.
King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Larry King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Machine darts in trying to clinch
and King counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by King.
Machine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as King walks away with a smile on his face. Machine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Machine jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Machine stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
King connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Machine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King lands the left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machine lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Machine.
It looks like Larry King has been cut.
Machine clinches but King breaks the clinch
and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That has opened up Alberta Wrecking Machine's cut even more.
Alberta Wrecking Machine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King sends Machine crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! King is motioning to the referee to let Machine up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Machine is rocked!
Machine tries to clinch
and King counters with a right hand to the body.
Machine looks gassed!
King tries to land a front kick but Machine steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
King drops Machine with a big left hand! Machine is injured, injured bad! King jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Larry King!
