Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rey Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Handy Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Handy Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Henry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Henry is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.

Jackson manages to stand up with Henry still on his back. Eventually Henry drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Henry scores with a one two! Jackson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Handy Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Henry counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Henry shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Henry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jackson forces Henry back against the ropes and clinches.
Jackson tries to score a body lock takedown but Henry shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jackson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Henry gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Henry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Henry shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Henry stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

It looks like Henry is going to stand back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Henry closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.

Jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Henry sprawls well initially but Jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
