The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tennant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lips avoids it really well and circles away.
Lips scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tennant is looking for a sweep. Lips is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lips missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Tennant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lips on the ground.
Lips is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tennant has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tennant tries to roll over but Lips keeps him under control.
Lips is looking for a kimura but Tennant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lips to get the leverage.
Tennant is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lips pulls his head out easily.
Lips seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
