Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Rampage Song as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Jackson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson rushes Perez and presses him up against the cage. Perez has had enough of the clinch but Jackson keeps him there for the moment. Perez prevents Jackson from breaking the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Perez wants to get back to striking at distance but Jackson won't allow it.
Jackson goes for a takedown attempt but Perez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Perez shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Perez shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Perez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Perez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Perez persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb Perez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson looks to land a combination but Perez avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Perez at a distance.

Perez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Perez is breathing heavily. Jackson tries to circle away but Perez has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Jackson is pushing down on Perez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Perez is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through. Perez taking some punishment here, with Jackson in his half guard. Jackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. I looks like Jackson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Jackson passes to side control. Jackson takes a little break here. Perez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Jackson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Jackson scores with punches from side control. Perez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Perez tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez seems a little lost for a moment, as Jackson dominates the positioning. Jackson working the ground and pound. Jackson in side control lands a decent elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jackson cracks Perez with an elbow. That is naaassty. Jackson lands a few punches from side control. Jackson cracks Perez with a big right hand but Perez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jackson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackson connects with a nice short shot to Perez's temple. Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is taking a breather. Perez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Perez taking some punishment here, with Jackson in his half guard. Perez is trying to control but Jackson passes into side control!

Perez tries to escape but Jackson is in control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson working the ground and pound. Perez is not in a great position here, taking some shots. A lull in the action here as Jackson stalls from top position. Perez tries to buck Jackson off but Jackson is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Jackson tries to advance to mount but Perez denies him. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perez keeps working. Jackson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perez can't do much from the bottom here. Perez is looking to regain half guard here but Jackson keeps moving and retains side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Jackson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jackson cracks a nice hook into Perez's ribs. Caleb Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A shot to the liver by Jackson. Beautiful body shot. A right-left combo lands from Jackson. Perez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jackson at a distance.
Jackson lands a jab-cross combination. Perez has his takedown stuffed and Jackson counters with a takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Jackson lands a nice forearm strike. Jackson controlling the position from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phil Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far. Jackson grinds an elbow into Perez's temple. Perez trying to remain calm as Jackson controls from the top position. Perez is looking for a sweep. Jackson in side control lands a decent elbow. Jackson working the ground and pound. Jackson working the head with strikes. Jackson working the body and head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson landing a few strikes. Perez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jackson's best efforts. Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Perez taking some punishment here, with Jackson in his half guard. Jackson controlling the action here. Jackson winds up and cracks Perez with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Perez works his way to full guard. Good work. Jackson landing some decent shots from guard. Perez trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Jackson throws and elbow that misses. Perez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jackson's guard. Nice move by Perez!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perez's guard. Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Perez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jackson controls from within his opponent's guard. Jackson scoring with punches to the head and body. Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jackson lands a couple of digs. Jackson scoring with some ground and pound. Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Perez has his takedown stuffed and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Perez fights it but they end up in guard. Jackson wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving. Jackson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Jackson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jackson stands up over Perez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jackson trying to control but Perez is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Perez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jackson works over Perez with some ground and pound from guard. Perez keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Jackson wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving. Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jackson moves into the clinch. Jackson content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Perez has him pressed against the cage. Perez gets underhooks to prevent Jackson's takedown attempt.
Perez lands a body shot. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jackson scores with a shot to the side of Perez's head. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Perez wants to clinch but Jackson slips to the side and Jackson counters with a left and a right that stings Perez. Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Jackson working over Perez with some ground and pound. Perez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Perez pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Perez is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Perez taking some punishment here, with Jackson in his half guard. Perez tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Perez is not content to let Jackson control the position. Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Perez get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson wants to control but Perez is keeping him busy. Perez wants to control but Jackson postures up. Jackson in side control lands a decent elbow. Perez is trying to improve his position. Jackson in side control lands a decent elbow. Jackson advances to full mount. Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Perez frees his head quite easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Phil Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
