The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Congo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barbossa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barbossa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Barbossa is keen to just control but Congo is a slippery customer.

Barbossa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barbossa here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

It looks like Anthony Barbossa has been cut.
Congo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Barbossa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Congo has time to react.
Barbossa shoots in for a takedown but Congo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Barbossa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Congo tries to avoid it but Barbossa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Congo to the ground. Congo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
