Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Drysdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph Drysdale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Williams!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drysdale looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Williams!

Drysdale jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Williams is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Williams and Drysdale has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Williams is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Drysdale looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Williams tries to buck Drysdale off but Drysdale is having none of it.

Drysdale wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
Drysdale works to advance to full mount. Williams defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Drysdale is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Williams can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Drysdale wants to finish this one by submission but Williams is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Drysdale.

Drysdale swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Williams is now in Drysdale's guard. A big mistake from Drysdale there, giving up the dominant position!

Drysdale has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Williams is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Drysdale.

Williams stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Drysdale shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Williams throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Drysdale's head.

and Williams counters with a one-two to the body.

Williams goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Williams throws a combination. Drysdale tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Drysdale takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ralph Drysdale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams throws a nice outside leg kick.
