Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Bisping! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joseph Bryan! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bisping sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bryan somewhat. Bryan closes the distance and clinches up with Bisping, looking for a takedown. Bryan pushes Bisping against the cage but Bisping circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bryan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bisping avoids it really well and circles away. Michael Bisping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Bryan. Bisping throws a right hand that Bryan ducks under and follows up with a left that Bryan also avoids with ease. Bisping scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Joseph Bryan has been cut. Bryan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bryan looks for a takedown but Bisping sprawls well. Bryan looks gassed! Bisping lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Bisping cracks Bryan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Bryan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bisping finish him?
Bryan is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bryan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bryan is still on wobbly legs! Can Bisping finish him? Joseph Bryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bryan slips a jab and a cross from Bisping.
Some wild striking there from Bisping.
Bisping fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bryan seems to have recovered his senses. Bisping lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Bisping lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bryan circles away quickly and effectively. Bisping throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Nice cross by Bisping. Bryan walks straight into a right hand from Bisping - that's dropped him! Bisping jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bryan from any more punishment! Bryan complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michael Bisping!
