Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Sol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Cicero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cicero has chosen Woke Up This Morning as his entrance music. Paul Cicero is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Sol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Cicero!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sol misses the shot to the body.
Cicero tries to clinch there but Sol circles away.
Sol shoots in for a takedown but Cicero shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cicero moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cicero jabs at Sol's body.
Cicero misses with a straight left.
Sol misses the shot to the body.
Cicero cracks a nice hook into Sol's ribs.
A big right from Sol misses.
Sol misses with a body shot.
A shot to the body from Sol misses
and Cicero makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Cicero misses with a low kick as Sol jumps back.
Cicero loads up on a big right hand but Sol slips the punch.
Cicero lands a slapping body shot.

and Sol counters with a shoot takedown. Cicero fights it but they end up in guard.
Sol throwing strikes from guard but Cicero blocks nicely.
Cicero wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sol trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cicero tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cicero is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sol wants to control from the top but Cicero keeps moving.

Cicero is looking for a triangle but Sol pushes his legs off easily.

Sol throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Cicero throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sol uses it to pass to side control.
Sol taking a break here but Cicero is having none of it and regains half guard.
Cicero wants to control but Sol is keeping busy.

Sol working the head and body with strikes.

Sol is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cicero with the active half guard here but Sol passes nicely into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sol cracks Cicero with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cicero is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sol off and has taken his back!
Cicero misses with a punch to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cicero tries to keep control of the position but Sol is staying busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sol trying to control but not successfully.
Cicero is controlling the position but Sol somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Cicero missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Cicero dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cicero throws a hook to the side of Sol's head but Sol sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sol tries for a takedown but Cicero circles away easily
and Cicero counters with a nice uppercut.
Cicero turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cicero misses with a body punch

so Sol counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cicero is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Cicero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sol can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sol got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cicero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sol has managed to get both his arms back between Cicero's legs - danger averted.
Cicero is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Cicero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sol manages to get himself to full guard.

Cicero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A big right from Cicero misses.
Sol looks to score with a jab to the body but Cicero is just out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Sol checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Sol swings for the body but Cicero moves out of range.
Cicero tries to clinch up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sol checks the leg kick nicely there.
Cicero throws a big shot that misses.
Sol misses with a low kick.
Sol takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Cicero closes the distance and pushes Sol back into the cage.
Sol drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sol is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cicero pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Viktor Sol. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A short body shot lands from Cicero as the two fighters clinch.
Sol takes a shot to the head.

Cicero breaks from the clinch.
Cicero misses with a body kick.
Paul Cicero is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sol fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sol works over Cicero's head and body with a nice combination.

Sol closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cicero regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sol's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Sol is trying to control the action in half guard but Cicero is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cicero wants to control but Sol is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sol on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Cicero. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Sol has his takedown stuffed
enabling Cicero to counter with a crisp jab.
Cicero throws a push kick but Sol slaps the foot to one side.
Cicero chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sol closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cicero circles away.
Cicero is looking to clinch.
Cicero throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cicero wants to clinch.
Cicero ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Cicero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Cicero looks to score with a jab to the body but Sol is just out of range.
Cicero slips a jab from Sol.
Viktor Sol is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fighters circling - Cicero throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cicero clinches.
Cicero lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Cicero lands a nice shot to the body.
Sol has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cicero is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cicero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cicero misses with a body shot.

Cicero misses with an uppercut.
Cicero lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sol's sensitive parts.
Sol thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Cicero misses the target.

and Sol counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Cicero wants to improve his position but Sol is controlling well.

Sol is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cicero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sol pulls his head out easily.
Sol is looking to take a break and control but Cicero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A shot to the body from Sol misses
and Cicero counters with a good, hard body kick but Sol shrugs it off.
Sol is looking to wear down Cicero with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Cicero connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cicero cracks Sol with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cicero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sol paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cicero gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cicero has his feet on Sol's thighs here. He's pushed Sol off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Sol screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
