Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Perrin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Silakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Piggly Wiggly. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Perrin Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Timo Silakka! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silakka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Silakka does a little dance to reset his feet. Jones lands a head kick. Silakka smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Jones cracks Silakka with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Silakka throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones throws a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silakka looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silakka looks to land a body kick but Jones moved away. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there. Silakka is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silakka tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Jones wants to take a breather but Silakka is having none of it. Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silakka sees it coming and defends easily. Silakka is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard. Silakka slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Silakka looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones cracks Silakka with a right hand to the side of the head. Silakka throws a sloppy head kick and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Jones is stalling in the full guard. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silakka is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from Silakka. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Silakka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silakka seems keen to control Jones's posture. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silakka keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Silakka looking for a sweep. Not yet Silakka, not yet. Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silakka tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Perrin Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Silakka misses with an uppercut. Silakka ducks under a wild hook from Jones. Jones misses with a straight right. Jones connects with a looping right hand.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Silakka is looking to control Jones's arms but Jones gets an underhook and turns him. Now Silakka has his back to the cage. Silakka takes an elbow to the temple. Jones is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle. Silakka is breathing heavily. Jones working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Jones lands a right hand that snaps the head of Silakka backwards. Silakka is trying to stall.

Silakka being controlled against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silakka avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Silakka is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Jones slows down the pace here.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Nice body punch from Jones - that landed with a thud.

Jones working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A short right from Jones. Silakka is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Perrin Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timo Silakka. Jones lands a shot to the body. Jones just leaning against Silakka, taking a breather. Jones gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Jones crunches a lovely knee into Silakka's ribcage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones lands a knee to the head.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones shoots in but Silakka avoids the takedown attempt easily. Silakka swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Jones tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Silakka avoids it. Jones breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones scores with a jab. Silakka acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Nice shot lands for Jones. Silakka throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Silakka throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Silakka throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jones cracks Silakka with a good jab. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones connects with a jab. Jones takes the fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones lands with a nice body punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silakka avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Jones lands the left hand. Silakka doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Silakka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silakka throws a combination that misses and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones passes the guard and advances to mount! Silakka is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to control but Silakka wriggling away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Silakka is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action. Silakka is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Perrin Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control the pace but Silakka is squirming around nicely. Jones prevents Silakka from getting the reversal. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Timo Silakka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones has isolated one of Silakka's arms. Silakka looking to fight him off but Jones twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
