Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dean Venture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guus Meeuwis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Venture comes to the cage accompanied by "Uh Huh" by Method Man. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Guus Meeuwis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dean Venture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guus Meeuwis !
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venture is trying hard to land a takedown here. Meeuwis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meeuwis leaves Venture with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Meeuwis gets a takedown into half guard.
Meeuwis wants to pass the guard but Venture is defending well.
Venture gets full guard.
Venture wants to get back to his feet but Meeuwis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Meeuwis drops back looking for a leg! Venture is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Venture manages to kick Meeuwis off! Meeuwis jumps back into Venture's guard.

Venture working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meeuwis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meeuwis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Meeuwis is looking to stand up but Venture isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Venture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meeuwis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meeuwis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Venture!

Meeuwis looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Venture bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Meeuwis is looking for a triangle here but Venture uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

A close round but Guus Meeuwis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Venture counters with a takedown into side control.
Venture scoring with punches and elbows.
Meeuwis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Venture asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Venture works to advance to full mount. Meeuwis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Venture takes Meeuwis 's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Meeuwis is in trouble.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Meeuwis explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Venture is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Meeuwis has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Venture is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Meeuwis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Meeuwis shrugs it off.
Meeuwis can't escape the position.
Meeuwis bucks up and throws Venture to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Meeuwis misses with a takedown
and Venture counters with a shoot takedown. Meeuwis fights it but they end up in guard.
Dean Venture has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guus Meeuwis .
Meeuwis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Venture's guard.
Dean Venture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Meeuwis drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Meeuwis as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Venture screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Meeuwis ! Nice submission victory there!
