4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cocoa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Emelianenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Emelianenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Some wild striking there from Cocoa.
Emelianenko scores with a jab to the jaw. Cocoa scores with a hook. Cocoa looks to score with a jab to the body but Emelianenko is just out of range. Cocoa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Emelianenko showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cocoa.
Emelianenko throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Nick Cocoa has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Emelianenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cocoa tries to bench press Emelianenko off him but Emelianenko keeps the position. Cocoa is not content to let Emelianenko control the position. Emelianenko slows the pace down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cocoa gets back to half guard. Cocoa is looking for a sweep. Emelianenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cocoa is not content to let Emelianenko control the position. Cocoa is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cocoa is looking for a sweep. Cocoa is looking to regain half guard here but Emelianenko keeps moving and retains side control. Emelianenko trying to control the position but Cocoa is working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Emelianenko tries to clinch up but Cocoa circles away and keeps his distance. Emelianenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cocoa. Cocoa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Emelianenko scores with a leg kick.
Cocoa moves into range and connects with a jab. Cocoa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Nick Cocoa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko throws a solid leg kick but Cocoa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Emelianenko. A shot to the body from Emelianenko misses and Cocoa counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cocoa pushes Emelianenko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Cocoa breaks the clinch.
Cocoa sizes up Emelianenko with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Emelianenko is rocked! Cocoa misses with a straight right. Emelianenko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cocoa counters with a crisp right that sends Emelianenko to the canvas! Cocoa follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
