Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Dayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dayne is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Getting Away With Murder - Papa Roach (Edit). Jason Dayne has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dirk Schaeffer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Dayne!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dayne blocks a jab.
A head kick misses from Dayne.
Schaeffer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dayne defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Schaeffer.

Dayne gets a clinch.
Dayne wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Schaeffer has him pressed against the cage.

Dayne breaks the clinch.
Schaeffer dives in and grabs Dayne's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dayne pushes down on Schaeffer's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dirk Schaeffer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dayne shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schaeffer is trying to defend but Dayne finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Schaeffer is doing well to control the position and prevent Dayne from advancing to side control.

Dayne wants to take a breather but Schaeffer is having none of it.
Schaeffer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dayne is working away from the top position though.
Dayne is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Schaeffer manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dayne wants to control from the top but Schaeffer keeps moving.
Schaeffer is adopting a defensive guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dayne drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Schaeffer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dayne has Schaeffer in his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Schaeffer content to stall in guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Schaeffer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dayne's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dayne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Schaeffer doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dayne counters by moving into the clinch.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schaeffer is on top in guard.
Schaeffer lands a couple of elbows.
Dayne keeping moving, preventing Schaeffer from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schaeffer slips nicely into half guard.
Dayne is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dirk Schaeffer.
Schaeffer tries to close the distance and clinch but Dayne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Schaeffer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dayne as he avoids it easily.

and Schaeffer counters with a three punch combo that has Dayne backing up. Dayne nods at Schaeffer to acknowledge the strikes.

Schaeffer trying to control the position but Dayne is working away.
Schaeffer advances nicely into full mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dayne defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Schaeffer.
Schaeffer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dayne has given up his back here. Will Schaeffer look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Dayne has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Schaeffer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dayne pinned against the cage. Dayne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

so Schaeffer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Schaeffer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Schaeffer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Schaeffer wants to control the pace but Dayne is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Schaeffer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dirk Schaeffer just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Schaeffer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Schaeffer rushes Dayne and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Schaeffer as Dayne tries to tie him up.

Schaeffer pulls Dayne into guard.
Schaeffer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Dayne looking to sit in guard and control but Schaeffer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Schaeffer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Schaeffer stands and throws Dayne's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Schaeffer moves into full mount!
Schaeffer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Dayne is looking to improve his position but Schaeffer isn't that keen on the idea.

Dirk Schaeffer showed his dominance in that final round.
