Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young comes to the cage accompanied by Rod Stewart - Forever Young. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Walker!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young misses with a straight right.

Walker shoots in and bounces Young off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Young holds on and takes a little breather.

Walker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Young keeping moving, preventing Walker from controlling successfully.
Walker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Walker prevents Young from getting back to his feet.
Young preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Young seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Walker shoots in looking for a takedown. Young tries to sprawl out of it but Walker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Young manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Walker shoots in for a takedown but Young shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Walker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Young is trying to defend but Walker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Young is trying to maintain the position but Walker is very close to passing his half guard.
Young is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Walker is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Young to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Walker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Young works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Walker postures up in Young's guard and throws a big left but Young blocks it.

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Walker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Young defends it nicely.
Jay Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Walker.
Young throws a shot from downtown. Walker moves away and avoids it.
Walker shoots in but Young avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Walker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Young misses with a jab, cross combination.

Walker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Walker showed some decent athleticism there.

Young is trying to keep Walker in close.
Young pulls Walker in to control the position.
Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but Young is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Young has his hands on Walker's head, controlling the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walker wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.

Walker drops back looking for a leg! Young is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Young manages to kick Walker off! Walker jumps back into Young's guard.

Young manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Young gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Walker to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Young wants to stand up but Walker is controlling him.
Walker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Walker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Walker shoots for a takedown but Young saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Young throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Young drops Walker with a right and a left! Young comes rushing in but Walker regains his composure and manages to keep Young in guard.


It looks like Nelson Walker has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Young wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving.
Walker is adopting a defensive guard.
Young preventing the sweep.
Young wants to stand but Walker is controlling his posture from full guard.
Young stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Walker moves out of range of the strikes.
Young throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Walker shoots in and drives through. Young sprawls well.
Young swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Walker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily.
Jay Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Walker.
Walker shoots in for a double leg but Young sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Walker fails to land the takedown.
Young lands a jab to the nose.
Walker shoots in for a takedown but Young shows good takedown defense.
Young thows a left - swing and a miss!
Young loads up on a big right hand but Walker slips the punch.
Jay Young is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Young throws a looping overhand right but Walker ducks down to avoid it.
Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Young's waist but Young gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side.
Walker dives in and grabs Young's left leg, looking for a takedown. Young pushes down on Walker's head and hops out.
Jay Young is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Young lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Young.
Young misses with a hook.
Walker closes the distance and clinches up with Young, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes Young against the cage but Young circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Walker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Young throws a series of punches but Walker avoids them all with ease.
Walker tries to move into range but Young moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Young is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Young throws a shot from downtown. Walker moves away and avoids it.
Young slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walker is defended easily by Young.
Walker tries to move into range but Young moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Walker shoots for a double leg takedown but Young sprawls well. He's pushed Walker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Walker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Walker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Walker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Walker is working for a kimura but Young is defending it quite comfortably.
Young holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are battling for position here. Young manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Walker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Young wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Young's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Walker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Young wants to get back to his feet but Walker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Walker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Young's head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Nelson Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Walker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Young throws a lazy right hand but Walker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Young is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Walker is stalling here. Young is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Walker seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Young has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Young decides to stand up, so the ref orders Walker to his feet.

Walker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Young keeping control of the position.

Nelson Walker has got the better of the ground game so far.
Young is doing well to control the position and prevent Walker from advancing to side control.
