Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Juan has chosen Tropa de Elite as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcos Juan! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shields throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Juan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Shields on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Juan escapes and gets back to his feet. Juan moves into the clinch. Juan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Shields's efforts to push away. Shields is trying to break the clinch but Juan is controlling him. Shields working hard to break the clinch. Shields is breathing heavily. Shields wants to break the clinch but can't.

Juan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shields seems a little lost for a moment, as Juan dominates the positioning. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shields wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Juan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Shields sneaks out the side door and pushes Juan away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Shields tries to bum rush Juan with a series of wild strikes but Juan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Juan scores with a takedown into Shields's guard. Juan passes Shields's left leg - he's now in half guard. Juan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Juan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Juan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Shields misses with a series of wild punches.
Shields throws a right and a left that both miss. Juan pushes Shields up against the cage in a clinch. Juan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Juan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Juan chips away with some ground and pound. Shields is wriggling around but Juan manages to pass to half guard.
Juan works his way into side control. Shields is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Juan working the head and body with strikes. Juan has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shields! Shields knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Juan on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Juan controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Juan cracks Shields with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Juan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Shields is trying to stand but he's just given Juan his back. Shields is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Juan punishes Shields with strikes from the back mount. Shields trying to get back to his feet but Juan is in full control for now. Shields covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Marcos Juan dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Juan lands strikes to the head. Shields is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Juan.
