Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Blake McBox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasiliy Zaycev!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBox looks to land a combination but Zaycev avoids it well.
Zaycev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zaycev tries to score a power double leg takedown but McBox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zaycev somewhat.
McBox tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Zaycev is able to avoid easily.
McBox throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McBox fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Zaycev is out of range.
McBox lands a head shot.
McBox works over Zaycev's head and body with a nice combination.
Zaycev fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
McBox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McBox swings away with a leg kick that misses.
McBox moves into the clinch successfully.
Zaycev has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McBox avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Blake McBox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasiliy Zaycev.
Zaycev has McBox pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Zaycev pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending McBox tumbling to the mat - Zaycev dives into McBox's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zaycev drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Zaycev seems to have locked his on tight now - McBox screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Zaycev, as he picks up the win!
