Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mick Drury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Kendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Drury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mo Kendo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kendo closes the distance and pushes Drury back into the cage.
Come on Kendo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Kendo decides to pull guard.
Drury passes into half guard.
Kendo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Drury.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kendo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Drury wants to control from the top but Kendo keeps moving.

Kendo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drury doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drury manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Drury got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kendo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Drury has managed to get both his arms back between Kendo's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drury looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kendo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Drury is looking to take a break and control but Kendo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Drury stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drury wants it to stay on the feet.

Drury shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kendo as he jumps to the side.

Drury fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kendo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Drury has managed to clinch.
Kendo prevents the takedown attempt.
Drury tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kendo smiles and moves away.

Drury throws a jab when Kendo was well out of range.
Drury connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kendo's hands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kendo is defended easily by Drury.

and Kendo counters with a right hand to the body.

Kendo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Drury but Drury pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Drury drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Drury seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kendo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Drury is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kendo!

Kendo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Kendo tries to stall but Drury uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Kendo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Drury tries to avoid it but Kendo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Drury to the ground. Drury escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Drury takes a swing at Kendo's ribcage but misses.
Drury circles away from the clinch attempt.
Drury throws a shot to the body.
Kendo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Left hook, right uppercut from Drury.
Drury scores with a jab to the body.
Drury uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kendo.
Kendo is breathing heavily.
Kendo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Drury scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Drury closes the distance and pushes Kendo back into the cage.

Kendo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Drury paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Drury lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Drury shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kendo as he avoids it easily.
Kendo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Drury cracks a nice hook into Kendo's ribs.
Kendo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Drury wants to pass to mount but Kendo is defending the position.

Drury is really struggling to control Kendo but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Kendo is trying to control but can't.
Drury working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Drury throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mick Drury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mo Kendo.

Drury stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kendo is looking for a kimura but Drury is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kendo to get the leverage.
Drury has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Drury lands with a hook. Kendo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Drury moves in looking to clinch but Kendo pushes him off.
Kendo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kendo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kendo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Mo Kendo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Drury looks to land a combination. Kendo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Mick Drury overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Drury lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kendo!

Drury has control of Kendo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kendo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kendo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Drury postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kendo looks a forlorn figure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Drury jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kendo walks away with a smile on his face. Drury gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kendo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Drury slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kendo wants to control from the top but Drury keeps moving.
Drury tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Drury is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Drury is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kendo drops back looking for a leg! Drury is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Drury manages to kick Kendo off! Kendo jumps back into Drury's guard.

Kendo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A combination from Drury does no damage.

Drury fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kendo sprawls well initially but Drury persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Drury seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Drury passes the guard and advances to mount!

Mo Kendo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mick Drury showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Drury, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
