The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowler misses with the combination.
Bowler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schmidt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice sprawl there from Schmidt as Bowler shoots in.
Schmidt just misses with a punch to the body.

Bowler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A lazy left from Bowler finds it's target.
Schmidt slips a jab and a cross from Bowler.
Bowler misses with a takedown attempt - Schmidt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Schmidt connects with a solid leg kick.
Bowler swats away the attempt to clinch by Schmidt.
Schmidt misses with an uppercut.
Grant Bowler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schmidt tries to clinch but Bowler is having none of it.
Bowler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schmidt pinned against the cage. Schmidt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Bowler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
