Pingshaw is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Heart of a Champion. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Watts!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terrance Pingshaw!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watts thuds his right hand into Pingshaw's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Watts lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pingshaw backs up against the cage.


Pingshaw is rocked!

Watts bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Pingshaw! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Pingshaw is still in real trouble! Can Watts finish him?
Pingshaw wants to sweep but no luck.
Watts passes Pingshaw's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pingshaw seems to have recovered his senses.
Watts is pressing down on Pingshaw's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pingshaw is holding on for now.
Pingshaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Watts is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Pingshaw!
Pingshaw is in all sorts of trouble here.

Watts jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pingshaw manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Watts is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pingshaw is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pingshaw is looking for a sweep.
Watts wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pingshaw keeps working.

Watts thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Watts wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pingshaw, who protects the arm well.

Watts tries for a kimura but Pingshaw is defending well.
Watts is breathing heavily.
Pingshaw gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Watts prevents Pingshaw from improving his position.
Watts works his way into full mount!
Pingshaw keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Watts trying to control but Pingshaw is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pingshaw really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watts working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Pingshaw turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Watts off and cradles Pingshaw's limp body as Watts celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ken Watts!
Ken Watts retains his lightweight title!
