Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie Lawler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Kazamier! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kazamier wants to clinch up but Lawler keeps it at a distance. Lawler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kazamier did well to prevent Lawler getting side control. Lawler is thwarting Kazamier's attempts to control the position. Kazamier wants to improve his position but Lawler is controlling well.
Kazamier makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kazamier. Kazamier looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lawler is one step ahead there. Kazamier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kazamier tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lawler. Kazamier wants to pass to mount but Lawler is defending the position. Lawler is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kazamier with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kazamier wants to pass the guard but Lawler is defending well. Kazamier is trying to control. Lawler wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kazamier content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kazamier sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lawler defending well though. Kazamier wants to pass to mount but Lawler is defending the position. Lawler is looking to control Kazamier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lawler avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazamier takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lawler is trying to stand up here but Kazamier is controlling him well. Kazamier is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lawler could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lawler wants to get back to his feet.
Kazamier works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kazamier has hold of Lawler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lawler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kazamier controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Let's hope that Kazamier has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Kazamier dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kazamier wants to clinch. Lawler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lawler shoots in for a takedown but Kazamier shows good takedown defense. Lawler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kazamier tries to free his leg and advance position but Lawler is retaining full guard. Kazamier stands and steps away. Lawler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kazamier has closed the distance and engaged Lawler in a clinch.

Lawler with a flurry of punches that miss. Kazamier wants to stand up but Lawler is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kazamier is on top in guard.
Kazamier gets to his feet - Lawler follows without any prompting. Lawler circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kazamier takes the fight into the clinch. Lawler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kazamier is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Kazamier can't break the clinch.
Kazamier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kazamier drives through with a takedown into guard. Kazamier showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kazamier gets to his feet. Lawler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lawler misses with a wild combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Kazamier. Lawler pushes Kazamier away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kazamier gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Kazamier decides to stand back up. Kazamier steps back and let's Lawler get back to his feet. Kazamier fails with the takedown and Lawler counters with a one-two to the body. Robbie Lawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Kazamier. A punch combination from Kazamier misses. Lawler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kazamier counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Lawler is looking to escape. Kazamier trying to control the pace. Kazamier decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. A combination from Lawler does no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kazamier fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kazamier circles away from the clinch attempt and Kazamier counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lawler kicks off Kazamier and gets to his feet. Kazamier shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kazamier stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lawler to get to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kazamier wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Kazamier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Lawler with a poor takedown and Kazamier counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kazamier. Kazamier tries to break free but Lawler pushes him back against the cage. Kazamier wants a takedown but no success here.
Kazamier tries to score a body lock takedown but Lawler shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Kazamier manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kazamier uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Kazamier counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lawler! Kazamier swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lawler is now in Kazamier's guard. A big mistake from Kazamier there, giving up the dominant position! George Kazamier has got the better of the ground game so far. Lawler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kazamier's head. Kazamier working a defensive guard here.
Lawler postures up in Kazamier's guard and throws a big left but Kazamier blocks it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lawler postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lawler trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kazamier avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lawler working some strikes from top position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lawler swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Kazamier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kazamier passes Lawler's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Lawler manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Lawler wants to get back to his feet but Kazamier is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kazamier tries to free his leg and advance position but Lawler is retaining full guard. Kazamier pushes down on Lawler's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kazamier passes to side control. Lawler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kazamier has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazamier controls the position. Kazamier throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Robbie Lawler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lawler is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kazamier is controlling him well. Lawler trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kazamier has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kazamier gets the takedown into side control. Kazamier trying to control the position but Lawler is working away. Kazamier laying and praying for a moment but Lawler takes advantage and regains half guard. Kazamier passes to side control.
And that's the end of the fight! George Kazamier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kazamier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
