Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maicon Snakes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian El Loco!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

El Loco drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Snakes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

El Loco looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Snakes manages to work his way to half guard, despite El Loco's best efforts.

El Loco is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

El Loco is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Snakes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time El Loco.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snakes wants to get back to full guard.

El Loco is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Snakes defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snakes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Snakes is defending against the submission attempts here by El Loco.
Snakes is trying to maintain the position but El Loco is very close to passing his half guard.

El Loco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snakes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of El Loco, into his guard.

El Loco has his foot on Snakes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Snakes works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

El Loco looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

El Loco looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Snakes passes into side control.
Snakes works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
El Loco is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snakes misses with a takedown attempt

and El Loco counters with a shoot takedown. Snakes fights it but they end up in guard.
Snakes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

El Loco drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and El Loco jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Snakes looking to hit a scissor sweep but El Loco is one step ahead there.

El Loco is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Snakes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Snakes has escaped and now he's on top!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

El Loco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snakes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but El Loco is tightening it up a little... Snakes has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Snakes reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Snakes taps out! nice BJJ there by El Loco!
