Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Sampaio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampaio fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Sampaio.

Jones clinches.
Sampaio content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Jones fails to pull guard.
Sampaio wants to break free but Jones has control.

Jones has picked Sampaio up - he's going for a ride! Jones dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Sampaio is defending well.
Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sampaio is trying to get back to full guard.
Sampaio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones prevents Sampaio from standing back up.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sampaio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones.
Jones wants to control but Sampaio is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sampaio is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Sampaio tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sampaio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones staying out of range there.
Sampaio throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sampaio throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sampaio darts in trying to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sampaio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones stops Sampaio from getting back to his feet.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Sampaio is defending well.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sampaio is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Jones looks gassed!
Sampaio wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sampaio has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sampaio wants to get back to full guard.
Sampaio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sampaio tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A punch combination from Sampaio misses.
Sampaio moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Sampaio will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sampaio throws a monster overhand right that drops Jones! Sampaio follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
