Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexi Zephyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez has a takedown stuffed.
Lopez takes the fight into the clinch.
Lopez jumps guard and drags Zephyr to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Zephyr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Zephyr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lopez dives on top into guard.
Zephyr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Zephyr has his foot on Lopez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lopez works his way back into a safe position though.
Lopez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Zephyr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lopez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lopez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zephyr did well to prevent Lopez getting side control.

Lopez cracks Zephyr with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lopez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zephyr is surviving well by controlling Lopez's body position as best he can.
Lopez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Lopez is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Lopez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lopez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Zephyr regains guard immediately.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zephyr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lopez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lopez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lopez stands and steps away. Zephyr gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lopez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lopez lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lopez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lopez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lopez fails with a takedown attempt.
Lopez moves into the clinch successfully.
Lopez's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Lopez is trying to break the clinch but Zephyr is controlling him.

Knees to the body from Lopez.
Zephyr fails to pull guard.
Zephyr jumps guard but Lopez stands there with Zephyr around his waist. Zephyr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lopez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lopez wants to break free but Zephyr has control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zephyr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lopez smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexi Zephyr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lopez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zephyr's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Lopez dominated that round.

Lopez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zephyr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Zephyr is looking for a triangle but Lopez pushes his legs off easily.

Lopez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lopez.

Lopez pushes Zephyr up against the cage in a clinch.
Lopez tries to stall but Zephyr uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Lopez tries to circle away but Zephyr has him pinned against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lopez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Zephyr has him pressed against the cage.
Lopez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Zephyr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lopez smiles and moves away.
Paulo Lopez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lopez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lopez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lopez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zephyr swivels and escapes.
Alexi Zephyr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Lopez.
Lopez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zephyr as he avoids it easily.

Zephyr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lopez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zephyr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lopez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lopez tries to control but Zephyr wriggling away.
Zephyr is looking to improve his position but Lopez isn't that keen on the idea.
Paulo Lopez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lopez working for a submission but Zephyr is keeping him at bay.
Zephyr sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lopez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zephyr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Lopez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Lopez darts in and clinches Zephyr up against the cage.
Lopez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Zephyr is keeping busy.
Lopez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Zephyr pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lopez lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Lopez goes for a takedown attempt but Zephyr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lopez fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Lopez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Zephyr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lopez won't be happy with that.
Alexi Zephyr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Lopez.
Zephyr has hold of Lopez's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lopez tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zephyr cranks the arm and Lopez screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lopez, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
