Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Garnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Garnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Urijah Cote! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garnett throws a nice outside leg kick. Garnett looks for a takedown but Cote sprawls well. Cote scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Garnett slips under a jab. Garnett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cote circles away. Garnett closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cote manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Garnett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cote does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cote wants to stand back up but Garnett manages to pass into side control.
Cote is pushing Garnett's head away, looking to escape. Garnett manages to hold on to the position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote is trying to improve his position. Garnett wants to control but Cote is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Cote throws a hook to the side of Garnett's head but Garnett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cote forces Garnett back against the cage and clinches. Garnett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Garnett prevents a takedown attempt there.
Garnett has clasped his hands together around Cote's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Garnett stands up. Garnett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cote circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Garnett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garnett is breathing heavily. Cote scores with a hook to the body. Garnett takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Cote misses with an uppercut. Garnett saw that one coming. Garnett darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Cote stalks Garnett and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Garnett's face. Garnett staggers backwards, shaken. Cote tries to clinch up but Garnett circles away and keeps his distance. Cote throws a leg kick and Garnett counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cote won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Garnett stands and steps away. Cote gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Urijah Cote seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Cote. Garnett does a little dance to reset his feet. Cote misses with a jab, cross combination.
Urijah Cote is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garnett takes the fight into the clinch. Garnett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cote throws a right and a left that both miss. Cote tries to clinch up and Garnett counters with a head kick. That will keep Cote thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Decent striking displayed by Cote there. Garnett takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cote, as that shot connected.
Cote throws the left hand but Garnett avoids the punch easily. Cote takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Cote darts in trying to clinch and Garnett counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garnett decides to pull guard. Garnett is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cote is pushing down on Garnett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Garnett is fighting to maintain full guard but Cote has managed to sneak the leg through. Cote keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Cote stands up from half guard. Cote looks to land a right hand but Garnett moved out of range. Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garnett misses with a takedown attempt - Cote sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Garnett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cote circles away. Cote fails to land with a series of punches.

Kevin Garnett dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cote is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Garnett shoots in and bounces Cote off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Cote is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cote looking for a sweep. Not yet Cote, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cote scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters circling a little - Garnett finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Cote stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cote wants it to stay on the feet. Garnett misses with a takedown attempt - Cote sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cote scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cote looks to clinch and Garnett holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cote tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cote jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Garnett walks away with a smile on his face. Cote gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cote will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cote rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Garnett holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cote tries to pull guard but Garnett won't allow it.
Kevin Garnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Urijah Cote. Cote wants a takedown.
Garnett works on Cote's body with a couple of short punches. Cote drops down looking for an ankle pick but Garnett pulls his leg out and moves away.

Garnett wants to control the pace but Cote is squirming around nicely. Garnett tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cote scores with a jab. Kevin Garnett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cote throws a body punch but Garnett moves out of range. Garnett throws a head kick that half lands.
Cote tries to clinch but fails miserably and Garnett counters with an inside leg kick. Garnett tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cote swivels and escapes. Garnett closes the distance and clinches. Garnett's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Cote managing to block the knees to the body from Garnett.
Garnett lands an elbow inside. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cote has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garnett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cote is looking to break free of the clinch but Garnett has double underhooks. Cote tries to score a body lock takedown but Garnett shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Cote wants to break free but Garnett has control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garnett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cote throws a nice looking combination but Garnett bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cote throws a right hand that Garnett ducks under and follows up with a left that Garnett also avoids with ease. Garnett shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cote wants to control but Garnett is keeping busy.
Garnett is trying to control. Cote wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Garnett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cote with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cote is looking to control Garnett's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cote avoid being mounted? Kevin Garnett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garnett trying to control the action but Cote is working from the bottom. Cote is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cote manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Cote is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cote swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Garnett counters with a nice body shot. Garnett has managed to clinch.
Garnett manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote trying to control the position from guard on top but Garnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garnett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Garnett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cote's guard. Garnett trying to move into half guard but instead Cote has managed to sweep! Cote trying to control but Garnett is working from the bottom. Garnett is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well. Cote advances to half guard. Cote trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote lands strikes from half guard. Garnett is looking to control Cote's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garnett avoid being mounted? Cote stalling. Cote wants to pass to mount but Garnett is defending the position. Urijah Cote has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kevin Garnett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cote prevents Garnett from standing back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Garnett showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garnett, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
