Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pono Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanzo Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Hayabusa does no damage.
Reyes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayabusa tries to avoid it but Reyes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayabusa to the ground. Hayabusa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A left and a right from Hayabusa both land. Nice combination.
Reyes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Reyes. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Hayabusa wants to improve his position but Reyes is controlling well.
It looks like Reyes is going to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hayabusa is trying to control but can't.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hayabusa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reyes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Reyes is looking for a kimura but Hayabusa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Reyes to get the leverage.

Reyes decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hayabusa lets loose with a powerful body kick. Reyes will feel that in the morning.
