Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kazuhiro Nakamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kazuhiro Nakamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mateus Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago keeps the fight on the outside.

Santiago moves into range and clinches up with Nakamara.
Nakamara tries for a takedown but Santiago manages to get underhooks.
Nakamara fails to pull guard.
Santiago wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Nakamara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Santiago wants to clinch but Nakamara slips to the side
and Nakamara counters with a thumping low kick.
Nice sprawl there from Santiago as Nakamara shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazuhiro Nakamara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nakamara drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Nakamara tries to clinch but Santiago moves away
enabling Santiago to counter with a crisp jab.
Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nakamara paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No luck for Nakamara with that takedown attempt.

Nakamara closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nakamara lands in his opponent's guard.

Santiago has his foot on Nakamara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakamara works his way back into a safe position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Santiago can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santiago has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Santiago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakamara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Nakamara lands with an uppercut that bounces Santiago off the cage and back into rage.

and Nakamara counters with a nice double leg into side control. Santiago won't be happy with that.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nakamara creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Santiago sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nakamara is looking to take a break and control but Santiago is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nakamara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Santiago swivels and escapes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Santiago throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Nakamaras head.
Nakamara tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Santiago just stands there and leans against the cage.
Santiago makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Nakamara breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Santiago takes the fight into the clinch.
Nakamara jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Santiago walks away with a smile on his face. Nakamara gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Nakamara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santiago looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nakamara.
Mateus Santiago has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kazuhiro Nakamara is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Santiago throws out a powerful jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kazuhiro Nakamara.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nakamara, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
