Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gouldmeister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Plyako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gouldmeister comes to the cage accompanied by ACDC - Highway To Hell. Royce Gouldmeister had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Royce Gouldmeister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Plyako!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plyako wants to clinch.
Plyako throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Plyako instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Plyako's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gouldmeister stalling.

Plyako breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gouldmeister defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Plyako.
Plyako is looking to clinch but Gouldmeister is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Plyako tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gouldmeister paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Plyako closes the distance and pushes Gouldmeister back into the cage.
Plyako gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gouldmeister.

Plyako is looking to break free of the clinch but Gouldmeister has double underhooks.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Plyako just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gouldmeister's brow.

Plyako is trying to break the clinch but Gouldmeister is controlling him.
Gouldmeister can't get the takedown.

Plyako escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gouldmeister circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gouldmeister tries to clinch up but Plyako circles away and keeps his distance.
Plyako tries to close the distance and clinch but Gouldmeister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gouldmeister thumps Plyako with a low kick.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Plyako tries a head kick but it misses.
Gouldmeister chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Plyako can pounce on him.
Gouldmeister avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gouldmeister shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Plyako is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gouldmeister is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gouldmeister trying to control the position from guard on top but Plyako is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gouldmeister is breathing heavily.
Plyako looking for a sweep. Not yet Plyako, not yet.

Gouldmeister is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gouldmeister trying to stand up but can't free himself from Plyako's guard.

Gouldmeister drops back looking for a leg! Plyako is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plyako manages to kick Gouldmeister off! Gouldmeister jumps back into Plyako's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Plyako tries to clinch but Gouldmeister is having none of it.

Plyako moves into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Plyako unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gouldmeister lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Plyako is looking to control Gouldmeister's arms but Gouldmeister gets an underhook and turns him. Now Plyako has his back to the cage.

Plyako breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Plyako fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice sprawl there from Plyako as Gouldmeister shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Gouldmeister. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Plyako buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Gouldmeister moves into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Andrey Plyako will probably get the nod.

Plyako tries to close the distance and clinch but Gouldmeister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Plyako misses with a takedown attempt - Gouldmeister sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gouldmeister blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Gouldmeister stops a takedown attempt from Plyako.
Plyako is looking to control Gouldmeister's arms but Gouldmeister gets an underhook and turns him. Now Plyako has his back to the cage.
Plyako is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Gouldmeister gets underhooks to prevent Plyako's takedown attempt.
Royce Gouldmeister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey Plyako.

Gouldmeister wants the takedown. Plyako is fighting it off but Gouldmeister persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Plyako's guard against the cage.

Gouldmeister slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Royce Gouldmeister will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Plyako shoots and misses

and Gouldmeister holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gouldmeister has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Plyako is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Plyako wants a takedown.
Gouldmeister is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Plyako pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Plyako wants to break free but Gouldmeister has control.
Plyako looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Plyako turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Gouldmeister looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Gouldmeister is trying to work for a kimura but Plyako is defending well.

Gouldmeister is looking for a kimura but Plyako is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gouldmeister to get the leverage.

Gouldmeister is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gouldmeister is working for a submission of some sort.

Gouldmeister seems to be working for a kimura but Plyako defends the submission attempt.
Plyako is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gouldmeister's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gouldmeister's back!

Gouldmeister is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Plyako gets his way!

Plyako working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Gouldmeister is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Plyako has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Gouldmeister taps out!
