The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruno shoots for a double leg takedown but genesis sprawls well. He's pushed Bruno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown by genesis or perhaps it was just good defense by Bruno which made him look bad.
genesis shoots in but Bruno avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bruno stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bruno wants it to stay on the feet.
Jeorge Bruno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of genesis genesis.
Bruno has his takedown stuffed
and genesis counters with a single leg into guard. Bruno didn't expect that.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bruno is on top in guard.

genesis is working an open guard so Bruno takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bruno shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bruno is nestled in close to genesis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bruno is looking to advance position but genesis won't allow it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bruno lands a nice short elbow.
Bruno stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows genesis to get to his feet.
genesis should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Bruno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. genesis was covering up waiting for the punch and Bruno finishes the takedown easily into guard.
genesis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bruno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
genesis looks gassed!
genesis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bruno stands up from genesis's guard - Bruno perhaps looking for a knockout.

Bruno fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bruno feints and as genesis raises his hands in defense, Bruno changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bruno won't allow genesis to get back to his feet.
Bruno passes genesis's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bruno takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bruno wants to take a breather but genesis is having none of it.
Bruno not doing much here.
Bruno works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

genesis wants to control but Bruno is having none of it.

Bruno throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! genesis has his hands clasped together but Bruno breaks the hold and genesis is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Bruno!
