Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Geddy Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duse smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Geddy Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee misses with a double jab.
smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
smith checks a leg kick.
Lee with a poor takedown
and smith counters with a left and a right that stings Lee.
Lee darts in and clinches smith up against the cage.
smith decides to pull guard.
smith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
smith looks gassed!
smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee wants to pass the guard but smith is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lee wants to stand up but smith is controlling him.
Lee controls smith momentarily but smith frees himself.
smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lee takes the fight into the clinch.
smith tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lee is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. smith can't fight it off and eventually Lee manages to take the fight to the floor. smith looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lee stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lee tries to clinch up but smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but smith avoids it really well and circles away.

Lee takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and smith counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.
smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

smith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
smith throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and smith counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

smith throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

smith is trying to stick to Lee's back but Lee is turning into smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lee.
Lee wants to control from the top but smith keeps moving.
Lee wants to get up but he can't break smith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
smith forces his way into half guard.
Lee won't allow smith to pass to mount.

smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Lee has wrist control.

smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lee is on top in guard.
smith is looking to stand up but Lee isn't so interested in that idea.
smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells smith's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
