Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gravy Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashton Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gravy Train! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ashton Bell! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Train, pushing him back against the cage. Bell is trying to force a seperation but Train has the dominant position. Bell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Train is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bell gets a clinch. Train throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Train with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Bell pushes Train back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Bell on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bell tries for a takedown but Train manages to get underhooks.

Bell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Train is defended easily by Bell. Train ducks right into an uppercut from Bell. Bell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Train. Bell throws a series of punches but Train moves out of range. Gravy Train seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bell stuffs the takedown attempt from Train. Train gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gravy Train. That's going to take a lot out of him. Train is breathing heavily. Bell has managed to clinch.
Bell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bell manages to end up in side control. Bell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Train has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bell misses with the ground and pound. Bell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Train is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bell tries to score with some ground and pound. Train controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The strikes coming from Bell are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Train managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bell.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Bell seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Bell misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bell throwing shots but missing, from side control. Bell is trying to get an arm triangle but Train is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bell in side control, throwing shots but Train defends. Train is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bell off and has taken his back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bell wants to get back to his feet. Bell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Train gets his way!

Ashton Bell dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Train drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Train darts in trying to clinch and Bell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bell. Train wants a takedown but no success here.
Train lands a damaging elbow. Train throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Train gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Train gets underhooks to prevent Bell's takedown attempt.

Train throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bell blocks it with crossed arms. Bell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Train looks to throw an elbow but misses. Train throws a knee to the head but misses.

Bell tries to break free but Train pushes him back against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bell has clasped his hands together around Train's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Bell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Train is trying to control Bell's posture but Bell avoids it. Bell working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bell cracks Train with a big right hand but Train just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell landing a few strikes. Bell working away. Bell creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Train sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Bell throws an elbow but Train slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bell sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Train is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bell stands up and beckons Train to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Train doesn't manage to clinch there - Bell circles away.
Bell fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Gravy Train is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bell closes the distance and pushes Train back into the cage. Bell takes a knee right on the jaw!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ashton Bell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bell closes the distance and lands a one-two. Train takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. No joy there for Bell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bell is looking to work some ground and pound but Train has wrist control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Train pulls Bell in to control the position. Bell throws a big right hand that misses. Bell stands up and waves to Train to follow him. Bell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Train on the side of the head. Train tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Train dives in and grabs Bell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bell pushes down on Train's head and hops out. Bell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bell throws a series of strikes that have Train backpedaling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell closes the distance and lands a one-two. Bell lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Bell rushes Train and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Train wants to break free but Bell has control.

Bell tries to circle away but Train has him pinned against the cage. Bell is trying to drag Train to the mat but Train just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Bell is trying to break free. Bell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Train tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Train somewhat. Gravy Train has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jab from Bell. Bell throws a right and a left that both miss. Train takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Train fails in his attempt to clinch. Train dodges the punch combination from Bell.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bell wants it to stay on the feet. Bell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Train circles away quickly and effectively. Bell cracks Train with an open hand slap. Train shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bell as he avoids it easily. Bell drives through and clinches with Train against the cage.
Bell stalls. A nice glancing elbow lands by Train. Bell manages to break the clinch.
Bell takes the fight into the clinch. Bell tries to circle away but Train has him pinned against the cage. Train lands an elbow that stopped Bell in his tracks for a moment. Train lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bell backwards. Train with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Train just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bell's brow. Bell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bell moves into range and connects with a jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Ashton Bell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
