PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yllib Tolrahc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Yllib Tolrahc was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yllib Tolrahc!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolrahc misses with a low kick.
Tolrahc looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tolrahc is letting Williams control him for a moment.
Williams lands some shots froms side control.

Williams has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Tolrahc throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely.

Williams feints and as Tolrahc raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Tolrahc is keeping the position.
Williams cracks Tolrahc with a solid left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tolrahc can't keep his opponent in guard - Williams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tolrahc avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Williams.
Williams not doing much here.
Williams could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tolrahc's head.

Williams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Williams decides to stand up.

Williams scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tolrahc is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Williams is controlling the pace.
Tolrahc wants to control but Williams is keeping busy.

Williams decides to stand up.
Tolrahc walks into a stiff left hand from Williams.
Williams scores with a nice strike.
Williams scores with a one two! Tolrahc had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Williams moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Tolrahc fails in his attempt to clinch.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams throws a series of strikes that have Tolrahc backpedaling.

Tolrahc gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Williams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tolrahc is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Williams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Tolrahc is breathing heavily.
Williams seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tolrahc for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ted Williams just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Tolrahc wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.

Williams looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tolrahc!

Ted Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Williams is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tolrahc can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tolrahc really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tolrahc is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Tolrahc reaches up to try and control the position but Williams seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Tolrahc rolls and tries to escape and now Williams has his back!

Tolrahc has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Williams.
Williams is not going to allow Tolrahc to sit and survive in this position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Williams is punishing Tolrahc with strikes - can he finish him?!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ted Williams just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Williams tries to clinch there but Tolrahc circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Williams dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tolrahc. That did some damage!

Williams shoots in and bounces Tolrahc off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Williams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Williams lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Tolrahc hang on?
Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tolrahc is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Williams lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Williams lands a nice shot to the head.
Williams controlling his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tolrahc wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Williams is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Williams gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Williams gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Williams apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Williams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Williams takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Williams passes to full mount!
Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Williams is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tolrahc has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ted Williams just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Williams.
Tolrahc trying to remain calm as Williams controls from the top position.
Yllib Tolrahc has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Williams is chipping away with strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ted Williams showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
