The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hanson sprawls well initially but Kelly persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kelly trying to pass the guard but Hanson defending well.
Hanson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kelly pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelly frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kelly is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hanson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kelly wants to control the pace but Hanson is squirming around nicely.
Kelly lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kelly can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hanson is looking to escape.
Hanson tries to hold on but Kelly postures up.
Kelly looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Hanson is trying to escape the mount but Kelly keeps good control and instead manages to take Hanson's back.
Kelly is not going to allow Hanson to sit and survive in this position.
Hanson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kelly's arms.
Kelly is breathing heavily.

Hanson breaks Kelly's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hanson trying to move into half guard but instead Kelly has managed to sweep!
Hanson wants to stand and escape but Kelly is having none of it.

Hanson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kelly defends well.
Kelly sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hanson's guard.

Kelly passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kelly trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kelly has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hanson's face.
Kelly trying to control but Hanson is having none of it.
