The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva shoots in and drives through. Ejes sprawls well.
No joy there for Ejes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Da Silva checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ejes throws a nice outside leg kick.
Da Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ejes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ejes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ejes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ejes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Da Silva's face.

Ejes tries to control but Da Silva wriggling away.
Da Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ejes controlling the pace for now.

Ejes throws some wild stikes that Da Silva manages to avoid easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Ejes throws a series of punches but Da Silva moves out of range.
Ejes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Da Silva circles away.

Da Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ejes keeps working.
Da Silva works his foot free and advances to mount.

Da Silva wants to finish this one by submission but Ejes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Da Silva.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Da Silva won't let Ejes get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Ejes sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Da Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ejes squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Ejes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Da Silva has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Ejes is forced to tap!
