Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Riku Ogawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Petiwa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riku Ogawa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Riku Ogawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Austin Petiwa! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petiwa tries to clinch but Ogawa is having none of it. Ogawa throws a body punch but Petiwa moves out of range. Ogawa drives through with a takedown into guard. Petiwa is trying to keep Ogawa in close.
Ogawa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ogawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Petiwa is retaining full guard. Ogawa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Petiwa's guard. Petiwa is looking for a sweep. Ogawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ogawa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Petiwa's head. Ogawa prevents Petiwa from improving his position. Ogawa is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Ogawa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Petiwa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ogawa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Petiwa wants to improve his position but Ogawa is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petiwa can do anything to dispel that myth. Ogawa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Petiwa sees it coming and defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ogawa seems to be looking for submissions.
Nice strikes from Ogawa there. Petiwa wants to get back to his feet. Ogawa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ogawa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Petiwa tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Petiwa taking some punishment here, with Ogawa in his half guard. Ogawa trying to control the action but Petiwa is working from the bottom. Petiwa has hold of Ogawa's hands but Ogawa slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Petiwa is trying to maintain the position but Ogawa is very close to passing his half guard. Petiwa is trying to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petiwa wants to control but Ogawa passes into side.
Ogawa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ogawa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ogawa is breathing heavily. Petiwa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ogawa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ogawa working away. Ogawa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Petiwa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Petiwa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petiwa is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Ogawa lands some shots froms side control. Ogawa cracks Petiwa with a big right hand but Petiwa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Petiwa tries to improve position but can't. Petiwa can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petiwa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ogawa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ogawa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ogawa has knee on belly and moves into mount. Petiwa tries to reverse the position but Ogawa maintains control. Petiwa is bucking up trying to escape but Ogawa cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Ogawa working away from the top, dropping strikes. Ogawa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Petiwa looks a forlorn figure.
Petiwa is in a horrible position here. Ogawa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Petiwa is looking to improve his position but Ogawa isn't that keen on the idea. Ogawa dominating with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Riku Ogawa dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Petiwa finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Petiwa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Petiwa misses with a takedown attempt and Ogawa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Petiwa looks to clinch and Ogawa holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Petiwa looking to slow down the pace here. Petiwa breaks the clinch.

Ogawa is taking a breather. Petiwa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Ogawa scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Petiwa is refusing to be controlled, as Ogawa sits in half guard. Ogawa working over Petiwa with some ground and pound. Petiwa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ogawa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Petiwa sees it coming and defends easily. Petiwa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ogawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ogawa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. He's tapped! Ogawa pushes Petiwa away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
