Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joel Singapore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gavin Jr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Singapore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gavin Jr! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jr blocks the body kick.
Singapore avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jr tries to clinch up. Singapore takes the fight into the clinch. Jr tries to pull guard but Singapore won't allow it.
Singapore drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Singapore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jr scores with a body shot.
Singapore fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jr crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Singapore - the referee stops the clock and Jr gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Singapore. Jr manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jr. Singapore misses with a low kick.
Jr takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Joel Singapore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gavin Jr. Jr fails with a takedown attempt. Singapore shoots in and drives through. Jr sprawls well. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jr has eaten all the pies! Singapore tries for a takedown but Jr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jr tries to clinch there but Singapore circles away.
Singapore throws a head kick but Jr moves out of range.
Jr throws a push kick but Singapore slaps the foot to one side. Singapore closes the distance and clinches. Jr wants a takedown but no success here.

Jr jumps guard but Singapore stands there with Jr around his waist. Jr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Singapore walks away with a smile on his face. Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Singapore misses with a low kick as Jr jumps back. Singapore slips a jab and a cross from Jr.
Singapore tries to bum rush Jr with a series of wild strikes but Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Joel Singapore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Singapore sprawls well. Singapore wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Singapore clinches up against the cage. Jr is looking to control Singapore's arms but Singapore gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jr has his back to the cage. Singapore drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jr gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Singapore is breathing heavily. Jr jumps guard but Singapore stands there with Jr around his waist. Jr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Singapore gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Jr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jr keeping moving, preventing Singapore from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Singapore is looking to land body kicks. Singapore avoids the body shot from Jr.
Jr fails to land the takedown. Singapore looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jr is fending him off so far but Singapore persists. Nope, Jr circles away and we're back to standing. Jr with a lazy takedown attempt and Singapore counters with a flying knee. Nice. Singapore thuds his shin into the meat of Jr's side. Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Singapore circles away.

A nice leg kick lands there from Singapore. Singapore tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Singapore somewhat. Singapore throws a half hearted mid kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Singapore misses with a takedown attempt - Jr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Singapore did well to prevent Jr getting side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. It looks like Jr is going to stand back up.

Jr is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jr wants to pass the guard but Singapore is defending well.

Singapore wants to control but Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jr is looking to take a break and control but Singapore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Singapore wants to clinch.

Singapore sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Singapore scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Singapore lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Singapore scores a takedown into full mount! Singapore content just to control the position here. Singapore wants to control the pace but Jr is squirming around nicely.

Jr scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Singapore throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Singapore but Singapore pushes him off and we're back to square one. Singapore goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Singapore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Singapore tries to clinch up. Jr is looking to clinch. He's pushed Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Singapore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jr tries to avoid it but Singapore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jr to the ground. Jr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Joel Singapore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Singapore fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jr tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Singapore counters with a big head kick but Jr shrugs it off. Singapore misses with a takedown attempt - Jr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Singapore keeps the fight on the outside.

Singapore lands with a left to the head. Joel Singapore is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Singapore smiles and moves away.
Singapore moves into the clinch. Singapore has clasped his hands together around Jr's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jr is trying to improve his position. Jr is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Joel Singapore showed his dominance in that final round. Well Singapore has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
