Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuu Saga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Viktor Ransom! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ransom misses the shot to the body. Saga feints and as Ransom raises his hands in defense, Saga changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Saga scoring with punches to the head and body. Ransom looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saga stands up over Ransom, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ransom working a defensive guard here.
Ransom preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ransom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Saga with a flurry of punches that miss. Ransom can't keep his opponent in guard - Saga advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ransom blocking the ground and pound attempt from Saga. Saga thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ransom's head. Saga will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Saga missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ransom fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saga avoids the head kick by Ransom.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ransom looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ransom avoids the body shot from Saga.
Ransom tries to clinch up but Saga circles away and keeps his distance. Ransom shoots and misses and Saga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Saga. Ransom preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Saga postures up.
Saga throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ransom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Saga scoring with punches to the head and body. Ransom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ransom is trying to keep Saga in close.
Ransom might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Saga kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Saga is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ransom's half guard. Ransom tries to get to full guard but Saga has control of the leg. Saga passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ransom! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ransom can do anything to dispel that myth. Saga lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Saga landing strikes, looking to finish! Saga has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Ransom is forced to tap!
