Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauga Manuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Mauga Manuma enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leary blocks a head kick by Manuma.

Mauga Manuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Leary moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Manuma drops Leary with a beautiful combination! Leary stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Manuma is looking for the KO!
It looks like Tim Leary has been cut. Leary keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Leary shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Manuma manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Manuma is trying to control the position but Leary postures up. Manuma wants to stand but Leary is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manuma has momentary wrist control but Leary slips an elbow through the middle. Leary prevents Manuma from getting back to his feet. Leary in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Leary pushing down on Manuma's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leary thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Manuma wants to get back to his feet. Leary has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Leary is controlling the pace.
Manuma has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leary is working away from the top position though. Leary trying to control from half guard but Manuma is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Manuma trying to control here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Manuma throws a head kick but Leary moves out of range.
Manuma displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Leary. Manuma looks to land a body kick but Leary moved away. Leary feints and as Manuma raises his hands in defense, Leary changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Leary postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Manuma is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Leary trying to control the position from guard on top but Manuma is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leary pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Manuma is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manuma looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Manuma is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Leary slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Manuma keeping full guard, as Leary tries to pass.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Leary buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Manuma bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Leary's head backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Manuma moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A big right from Manuma misses. Manuma lands a head kick. Leary smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Leary ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Leary throws a half hearted mid kick. A lazy body kick from Leary and Manuma counters with a stiff right hand. A low kick from Manuma is predictable there and Leary counters with a low kick, right behind Manuma 's knee. The fighters circling - Manuma throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Leary throws a front kick aimed at Manuma's knee but Manuma avoids it well. Leary avoids the head kick by Manuma.

Manuma is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Manuma takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Manuma bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Leary scores a takedown into full mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Manuma is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Leary is in the full mount, landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tim Leary will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tim Leary's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Manuma throws a head kick that misses and Leary decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Manuma's guard. Manuma trying to keep a closed guard but Leary is proving a slippery customer.
Manuma wants to sweep but no luck. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Leary accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Manuma manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Leary gets back to half guard. Manuma trying to control the action but Leary is working from the bottom. Leary regains full guard. Nicely done.

Manuma won't allow Leary to sweep him here. Leary looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Manuma puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Manuma seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Leary wants to improve his position but Manuma is controlling well.

Manuma throws the left hand but Leary avoids the punch easily. The fighters circling - Leary throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Leary lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Manuma is breathing heavily. Leary lands a nice leg kick that just misses Manuma's sensitive parts. Leary feints and as Manuma raises his hands in defense, Leary changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Manuma is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manuma keeping moving, preventing Leary from controlling successfully. Leary cracks Manuma with a solid left hand. Leary might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Manuma is wriggling around but Leary manages to pass to half guard.
Leary throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Manuma wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Manuma is trying to stand up here but Leary is controlling him well. Leary thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Manuma's head. Manuma avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Leary. Leary stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Manuma to get to his feet. Manuma looks to score with a jab to the body but Leary is just out of range. Leary looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Manuma is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Good body shot from Leary.

Tim Leary dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Tim Leary's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Manuma moves into range and connects with a jab. Leary closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leary lands in his opponent's guard. Manuma looking to hit a scissor sweep but Leary is one step ahead there. Leary wants to stand and escape but instead Manuma has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Manuma gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Leary throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Manuma takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Leary cracks Manuma with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leary misses with a low kick. Manuma lands a slapping body shot.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Leary. Leary with a jab. A slapping body kick lands there for Leary. Manuma misses with an uppercut. Leary saw that one coming. Leary scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Leary defending well as Manuma loads up on a big left hand. Leary lets loose with a powerful body kick. Manuma will feel that in the morning. Leary looks for the body kick but Manuma saw that one coming. Leary changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Manuma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Leary landing a few strikes. Manuma is not content to let Leary control the position. Leary stands up and beckons Manuma to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manuma misses with the body kick and Leary counters with a nice body kick. Leary takes one to the side of the head.
Leary shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leary connects with a nice short shot to Manuma's temple. Leary not landing any meaningful shots this time. Leary scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Manuma is trying to stand back up but Leary is controlling him

Leary lands strikes from half guard. Leary seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Leary lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Manuma moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Leary stands up and waves to Manuma to follow him.

Mauga Manuma has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Manuma misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Leary counters with a nice low kick that buckles Manuma's knee momentarily. Leary bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Leary working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Manuma wants to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. An elbow from Leary crashes against the mat.
Leary looks up at the clock and then as Manuma takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Leary smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that's the end of the fight! Tim Leary showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leary, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
