Matsumoto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Filipino is trying to defend but Matsumoto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Matsumoto not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Matsumoto trying to mount his opponent but Filipino defends it. Filipino keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Filipino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Matsumoto lands with a punch from half guard. Matsumoto is taking a breather. Filipino says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Matsumoto has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

It looks like Keith Filipino has been cut.
Matsumoto has control of Filipino's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Filipino regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Matsumoto connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That has opened up Keith Filipino's cut even more. BOOM! Matsumoto connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matsumoto lands a heavy elbow. Filipino looks gassed!

Filipino is squirming around, avoiding Matsumoto's attempts to control the action. Matsumoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Filipino is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Matsumoto locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Filipino is forced to tap!
