Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Miyagi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Silvers! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silvers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Miyagi is fending him off so far but Silvers persists. Nope, Miyagi circles away and we're back to standing. Silvers is looking to clinch. Silvers closes the distance and clinches up with Miyagi, looking for a takedown. Silvers pushes Miyagi against the cage but Miyagi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Silvers tries to clinch up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Miyagi. Miyagi fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Miyagi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Miyagi cracks Silvers with a big right hand but Silvers just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Silvers manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Miyagi works his way to full guard. Good work. Silvers trying to control but Miyagi is working from the bottom.

Silvers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silvers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silvers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Miyagi counters with a nice body shot. Hiro Miyagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Silvers. Silvers has his takedown stuffed and Miyagi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silvers's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Miyagi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Silvers tries to bench press Miyagi off him but Miyagi keeps the position. Miyagi working away. Silvers tries to buck Miyagi off but Miyagi is having none of it. Miyagi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silvers, who protects the arm well. Miyagi misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Miyagi is breathing heavily. Miyagi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Silvers is trying to improve his position. Miyagi landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Silvers is looking to regain half guard here but Miyagi keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miyagi tries to move to mount but Silvers blocks the move with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silvers tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. You get the feeling that Silvers really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Miyagi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Silvers manages to avoid the submission attempt. Miyagi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Silvers's legs. Silvers takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Silvers is trying to improve his position. Silvers struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiro Miyagi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silvers with a lazy takedown attempt and Miyagi counters with a takedown into side control. Miyagi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Silvers to see if he's OK. Miyagi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Miyagi has knee on belly and moves into mount. Silvers working to try and regain half guard.
Miyagi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Silvers turns into him and now he's in Miyagi's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miyagi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silvers defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silvers wants to pass to mount but Miyagi is defending the position. Miyagi is staying active underneath Silvers, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Silvers wants to get back to his feet.
Silvers is looking to take a break and control but Miyagi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hiro Miyagi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Silvers tries to pass to full mount but Miyagi defends it.

That could mean trouble for Silvers! Miyagi with a couple of short strikes. Miyagi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silvers is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silvers and Miyagi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silvers trying to control but Miyagi is working from the bottom. Silvers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miyagi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silvers has managed to get both his arms back between Miyagi's legs - danger averted. Silvers trying to control but Miyagi is working from the bottom. Miyagi looking to sweep here. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Miyagi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Miyagi slips a nice elbow through Silvers's hands, connecting with Silvers's forehead. Miyagi missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hiro Miyagi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Silvers is trying to stand.
Miyagi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Miyagi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Silvers is trying to control but can't.

Miyagi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Miyagi working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
John Silvers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silvers is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
And that's the end of the fight! Hiro Miyagi showed his dominance in that final round. Well Miyagi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
