Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galvao comes to the cage accompanied by Uh Papai Chego. Carvalho has chosen many man as his entrance music. Renan Carvalho looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvao closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carvalho did well to prevent Galvao getting side control.
Galvao tries to pass to full mount but Carvalho defends it.
Carvalho wants to get back to full guard.

Galvao tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Carvalho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Galvao shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carvalho's guard.

Carvalho sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

and Galvao counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carvalho!
Galvao has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carvalho's face.

Galvao lands a big shot there that rocks Carvalho but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Galvao tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Galvao cracks Carvalho with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Carvalho can't escape the position.

Galvao working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Galvao has control of Carvalho's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carvalho regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Galvao passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carvalho!
Carvalho is trying to reverse the position but instead Galvao has taken his back - oops!

Galvao gets his hands free as Carvalho looks to control.
Carvalho is trying to get back to his feet but Galvao has full control of the position and if anything, Carvalho has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Carvalho is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Carvalho manages to reverse the position and now he's in Galvao's guard. Nice work there by Carvalho.
Galvao is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carvalho is aware though and is defending well.
Carvalho wants to control from the top but Galvao keeps moving.
Galvao is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Carvalho wants to stand but Galvao has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Galvao has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carvalho can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Galvao winds up and cracks Carvalho with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Galvao has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Carvalho is in real trouble here. Galvao gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Carvalho is tapping out! Galvao wins by rear naked choke!
