Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zhang Huy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Volette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zhang Huy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Volette!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volette closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Volette lands in his opponent's guard.
Huy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Volette chips away with some ground and pound.
Huy is trying to control the position but Volette postures up.
Volette lands a couple of elbows.
Volette wants to stand and escape but instead Huy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Volette working for a triangle but Huy defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huy trying to control but Volette is working from the bottom.

Volette working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Volette looking for a guillotine here but Huy defends easily.

Volette is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Volette is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Volette jumps guard but Huy stands there with Volette around his waist. Volette gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Huy wants to control but Volette is keeping busy and won't allow it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Huy tries to kick Volette off but Volette keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Volette tries to stand but can't do so whilst Huy controls his leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Volette takes a jab right on the kisser.
Huy swats away the attempt to clinch by Volette.
Volette is looking to clinch but Huy is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Volette or perhaps it was just good defense by Huy which made him look bad.

Huy throws a right and a left that Volette avoids nicely.
Huy keeps the fight on the outside.
Zhang Huy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Volette shoots for a takedown but Huy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Volette misses with a wild body shot.
Huy slaps away a takedown attempt from Volette, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Huy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Volette.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huy stays in close to Volette's body and controls the position.

Huy trying to control the position from guard on top but Volette is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Huy stands up and waves to Volette to follow him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Huy wants a takedown.
Volette is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Huy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Zhang Huy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Volette.
Volette has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Huy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Volette wants a takedown but no success here.
Huy wants the takedown. Volette is fighting it off but Huy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Volette's guard against the cage.

Huy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Volette does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Volette has his feet on Huy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Volette misses with a takedown attempt
and Huy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Volette!
Huy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Volette to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Volette shrugs it off.
BOOM! Huy connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Huy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Volette hang on?
Volette keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Huy avoids the attempt from Volette to control.

and Huy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Volette tries to score a body lock takedown but Huy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Volette wants to pass the guard but Huy is keeping the position.

Huy manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Volette tries to keep at a distance but Huy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Volette has Huy pressed against the cage, preventing Huy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Huy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Volette gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Huy to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Huy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Volette is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Huy is aware though and is defending well.
Huy wants to control from the top but Volette keeps moving.
Huy stays in close to Volette's body and controls the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well Huy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
