Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sebastian Michaelis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Carver McNulty! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McNulty stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McNulty wants it to stay on the feet. Michaelis tries to clinch there but McNulty circles away.
McNulty moves into the clinch. Michaelis wants to stall.
McNulty gets a trip takedown into half guard. Michaelis wants to sweep but McNulty has passed to side control! Michaelis trying to remain calm as McNulty controls from the top position. McNulty is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Michaelis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McNulty working the head with strikes. Michaelis is working to avoid the ground and pound but McNulty connects with a decent elbow. McNulty in side control, just content to control the action for now. McNulty working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNulty scores with a couple of short elbows. Michaelis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. McNulty missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Michaelis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Michaelis wants to clinch but McNulty slips to the side and McNulty counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Michaelis thinking. Michaelis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Michaelis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McNulty counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Michaelis is breathing heavily. Michaelis tries a head kick but it misses.
Michaelis with a lazy takedown attempt and McNulty counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastian Michaelis. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McNulty is working to tighten is grip on Michaelis's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Michaelis has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McNulty is really squeezing tight and eventually Michaelis passes out! McNulty breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
