Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gio Jazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gio Jazz could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Al Rossi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gio Jazz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jazz dodges the punch combination from Rossi.
Jazz takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Gio Jazz has been cut.
Jazz misses with a takedown attempt - Rossi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jazz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rossi sprawls well initially but Jazz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jazz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rossi's head.
Nice strikes from Jazz there.
Rossi desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Rossi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jazz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jazz's back!
Jazz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jazz is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Jazz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rossi.
Nice takedown defense from Rossi. No joy for Jazz on that attempt.

Rossi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jazz shoots in and drives through. Rossi sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gio Jazz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jazz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rossi avoids it really well and circles away.
Jazz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Al Rossi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jazz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jazz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jazz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jazz looking to ground and pound but Rossi is blocking nicely.
Jazz unloads with some shots from mount but Rossi bucks and avoids them well.
Poor strikes thrown by Jazz there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rossi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jazz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rossi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rossi and Jazz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Jazz wants to control for a moment but Rossi uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Jazz thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rossi to regain full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rossi holds on and takes a little breather.
Rossi controls Jazz momentarily but Jazz frees himself.
Rossi pulls Jazz in close to his closed guard and prevents Jazz from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rossi keeping full guard, as Jazz tries to pass.
Rossi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jazz stops Rossi from standing up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jazz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rossi pulls Jazz in close to his closed guard and prevents Jazz from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jazz trying to control the position from guard on top but Rossi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jazz wants to pass the guard but Rossi is keeping the position.

Al Rossi has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Jazz shoots in but no luck this time.
Jazz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rossi.
No joy there for Rossi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rossi swinging wildly here.
Rossi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rossi wants it to stay on the feet.
Jazz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rossi.
Jazz tries for a takedown but Rossi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jazz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rossi avoids it really well and circles away.
Jazz is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jazz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rossi defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Rossi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gio Jazz's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jazz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rossi as he avoids it easily.
Jazz shoots in and drives through. Rossi sprawls well.

Jazz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A swing and a miss from Rossi.
Jazz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rossi as he avoids it easily.
Rossi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rossi wants it to stay on the feet.
Jazz ducks right into an uppercut from Rossi.

Rossi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rossi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jazz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rossi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rossi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rossi!

Rossi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jazz to his feet.
Jazz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rossi misses with a looping right.
Rossi with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rossi.
Rossi lands a nice looking body kick.
Rossi lands with a right hand.
A slapping body kick lands there for Rossi.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jazz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rossi.
Rossi connects with an inside leg kick.
Rossi scores with a nice strike.
Rossi lands an overhand right.
Rossi scoring well with a low kick there.
Rossi fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Rossi lands a two punch combo.


Jazz is rocked!


Gio Jazz's cut is getting worse.
Rossi drops Jazz with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Jazz! Rossi dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Al Rossi!
