PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vaughn Rader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre's corner calls for a 1-2. St Pierre obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rader fails to land the takedown.
Rader misses the shot to the body.
St Pierre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rader moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
St Pierre displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rader.
St Pierre scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Rader looks to score with a jab to the body but St Pierre is just out of range.

St Pierre has closed the distance and engaged Rader in a clinch.
Rader tries for a takedown but St Pierre manages to get underhooks.

St Pierre has hold of Rader's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rader manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Poor strikes thrown by St Pierre there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rader slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
St Pierre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rader with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

St Pierre looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rader is trying is best to control the position here.

Rader utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

St Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and St Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rader wants to get back to his feet but St Pierre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

St Pierre throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Rader has his hands clasped together but St Pierre breaks the hold and Rader is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by St Pierre!
