PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Osbourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osbourne kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Martin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osbourne drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Osbourne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Osbourne tries to pass to full mount but Martin defends it.

Osbourne is trying to work for a kimura but Martin is defending well.
Osbourne works his way into full mount!
Martin is bucking up trying to escape but Osbourne cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Martin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Osbourne.

Osbourne is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Martin is surviving well by controlling Osbourne's body position as best he can.
Osbourne punching from mount but Martin doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Osbourne goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Martin turns into him and now he's in Osbourne's guard.
Osbourne lands a decent punch to the body there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin won't allow Osbourne to sweep him here.
Martin throwing strikes but missing.
Osbourne lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Martin!
Martin tries to reverse the position but Osbourne maintains control.
Martin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Martin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Osbourne.
Martin can't escape the position.

Osbourne looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Osbourne goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Martin is on top in guard.
Osbourne is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Osbourne is retaining full guard.
Martin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Osbourne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Osbourne is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Osbourne wants to sweep but no luck.
Martin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Osbourne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Martin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Osbourne is working away from the top position though.
Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Osbourne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Osbourne is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Martin is trying to stand back up but Osbourne is controlling him

Osbourne is looking for a kimura but Martin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Osbourne to get the leverage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Osbourne passes the guard and advances to mount!

Osbourne has hold of Martin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Martin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Osbourne working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Osbourne in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
A nice elbow there by Osbourne.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Osbourne is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Martin is in real trouble.

Martin just trying to survive but Osbourne is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Osbourne working for a choke but Martin is defending well.

Osbourne is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Martin is tapping out! This one is all over!
