Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Moe Lester! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rich Gold! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gold decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gold is nestled in close to Lester, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lester tries to get to full guard but Gold has control of the leg. Lester is working hard here to advance position. Gold sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lester defending well though. Gold working Lester over with strikes. Gold thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lester is trying to control but can't.
Gold throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gold lands strikes from half guard. Gold is keen to just control but Lester is a slippery customer. Gold misses with a head shot. Lester uses the momentum to regain guard. Lester working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lester is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gold keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lester's head. Gold throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lester works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gold scoring with some ground and pound. Gold wants to control from the top but Lester keeps moving. Lester scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lester looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gold! Gold blocking the ground and pound. Lester is working for a guillotine from mount but Gold frees his head quite easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gold can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like Rich Gold has been cut. Gold really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gold tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lester working away from the top, dropping strikes.
