Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Don Kongo struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 266.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Don Kongo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kongo keeps the fight on the outside.
Nice takedown defense from Kongo. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Kongo misses with a double jab.
Silva has managed to clinch.
Kongo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kongo but Kongo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
Kongo keeps the fight on the outside.
Kongo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kongo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Kongo misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kongo's guard.
Silva drops back looking for a leg! Kongo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kongo manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Kongo's guard.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Kongo is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kongo shoots and misses
and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Kongo fights it but they end up in guard.
Kongo has his feet on Silva's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kongo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Kongo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kongo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back!

Kongo is looking for a rear naked choke here but Silva reverses the position brilliantly into Kongo's guard!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva drops back looking for a leg! Kongo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kongo manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Kongo's guard.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Kongo has wrist control.
Kongo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
Kongo connects with a couple of short punches.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kongo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kongo distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kongo gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Kongo.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Kongo, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Kongo against the cage but Kongo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kongo gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Kongo keeps moving.
Silva forces his way into half guard.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Kongo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kongo tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva winds up and cracks Kongo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kongo looking very determined here, making life difficult for Silva.
Kongo is trying to get back to his feet but Silva has full control of the position and if anything, Kongo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Silva tries to get the hooks in deep but Kongo pushed the leg off.
Kongo rolls, trying to escape but Silva keeps control of the position.
Silva is trying to stick to Kongo's back but Kongo is turning into Silva. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Silva's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kongo.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kongo is in close to Silva's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kongo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kongo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Silva is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kongo throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Kongo's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Fernando Silva!
